Sutherland Wesleyan Cemetery Photos & History

In 1835 Thomas Sutherland and his wife gave ¼ acre of their land to the Wesleyan Church and Congregation for a church and cemetery. It fulfilled a pledge they had made in Ireland to help build a church if they succeeded in establishing a farm in the new country. Being one of the oldest Methodist cemeteries in the district, this small cemetery, consisting of only 10 or so gravestones, is now overgrown and abandoned.
