Tenth Line / Asa Stewart Cemetery Photos & History

Back Arrow Graphic - Bradford West Gwillimbury Graphic Back to Pioneer/Historic Cemeteries

There is little know of the Asa Stewart cemetery, settled on a corner of a field on the 10th Concession and fenced off from the rest of the farm. It is the property which was given to the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1827, although nothing is known of a church on the site. Over the years, part of the 200 acre property on which the cemetery sits has been sold to several families. Although it has been said that some members of these families have been buried in the cemetery, it has also been speculated that remains have been moved elsewhere.
